The European Youth Forum (YFJ) is a platform of 99 national youth councils and international youth NGOs from across Europe. It endeavours to serve the interests of young people from all over Europe and promote their active participation in decision-making processes, working with international institutions - principally the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations. The YFJ is seeking a dynamic Membership Services & Training Coordinator, able to maintain and heighten the quality of the services provided by the YFJ to its Members and coordinate the YFJ work in the field of Training, under the supervision of the Secretary General.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Membership Services & Training Coordinator will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing the approach to provide tailored organisational support to the YFJ Member Organisations;
Promoting and facilitating the use of YFJ Training resources by Member Organisations and other partners, including the Pool of Trainers;
Supporting applicant organisations throughout the membership application process;
Assisting the Consultative Body on Membership Applications (CBMA) in its work, by organising and supporting its meetings, study visits and report drafting;
Coordinating and supporting the work of the Pool of Trainers, by organising and supporting its meetings, keeping the flow of information, and liaising with partners;
Monitoring the developments in the field of Training at the European level and acting as the main interlocutor and representing the positions of the YFJ in what regards Training issues towards the institutional partners;
Securing the role of the YFJ in the development of youth-friendly training materials and the political importance of Training;
Ensuring the optimal use of training resources within the YFJ policy areas.
PROFILE OF APPLICANTS
A university degree or equivalent in a related field;
Relevant experience ;
Ability to work to strict deadlines and deliver high quality work under pressure;
Ability to work alongside the YFJ’s Member Organisations and under the political direction of the Secretary General and the Bureau;
Ability to work under own initiative as well as within the Secretary General's Office team;
Able to work flexible hours and when required on weekends;
Ability and willingness to travel, when necessary;
Willingness to live in Brussels or its surroundings.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages would be desirable, especially, French;
Able to research, collate, analyse and summarise complex policy information;
Very good knowledge of, and ideally experience with, youth work and training, and the realities and needs of youth organisations;
Knowledge of the different institutional partners with whom the YFJ works, such as the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations and related agencies;
Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a capacity to manage several projects simultaneously and to prioritise work;
Capacity to work with people from different social and cultural backgrounds and in a multicultural environment;
Computer literacy, including Open Office.
TERMS OF THE CONTRACT
The post of Membership Services & Training Coordinator is a full time position, with a five year contract. The monthly gross salary will be of 2.754 EUR. A relocation package, hospitalisation insurance and other benefits are available. Travel expenses within the Brussels region are covered by the European Youth Forum.
